It’s better to choose the destinations before your journey towards Nepal. Pre-plan before the journey saves your time and you will have no confusion during travel. Travel Nepal by Land

If you want to travel outside of the Kathmandu Valley, then you can go either through the road transport or airways using the domestic scheduled airlines and the charter airlines. 

If you have enough time to visit in Nepal and like to travel by roadways, you can take private vehicles from the transportation company along with the driver. You can also make a journey on a tourist standard bus service from Kathmandu to go to various parts of Nepal. Mainly, the tourist standard buses with the green number plate are available for the fixed route. The services are well and they are very comfortable to travel. The fare is slightly higher than the normal public vehicles as they provide luxury services. 

They will stop for 3-4 times on the way including toilet breaks, lunch breaks, and other snack breaks. The services or amenities of the tourist buses are different according to the company. Considering an example, the Greenline Bus Service operates from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Chitwan. They will provide Lunch during the journey at Riverside Spring Resort, Kurintar. There are various bus services which are comfortable and luxurious to travel with good services.

Please note that such vehicles and services are available within the limited route only. To go eastern and western part of Nepal, you must take public buses but you have to compromise on the services and facilities. It doesn’t mean all the public bus services lack good services.

In the context of Nepal, the highways are like the roads of the countryside because of the land topography of Nepal. But the drivers are experienced and skilled enough in these highways. Besides the highway routes, you have to take the 4WD Jeep while driving.

Hiring the local guide or other staff

In the context of Nepal, the professional guide is provided with their license and identity cards from the government. If you buy the package from the tour operator, then they will provide you the guide for your tour. The license of guides is different from each other concerning the different sectors. Trekking Guide, City Tour Guide, Rafting Guide, Naturalist, etc. are the categories of the guide which are characterized by their profession and the license too and have to work in their respective profession. 

You can also hire the tour guide with supplement language-speaking like, Italian, Russian, French, Spanish language, etc. The allowance for them is higher than the English Speaking tour guide. Whereas, in the trekking, you will get an English speaking trekking guide. In the case of rafting, if you pay for the rafting package, you will get all the rafting equipment arrangements with the trained rafting guide and the safety gear. Similarly, the naturalist is available in the hotels or jungle lodges nearby to the protected areas like in Chitwan National Park, Bardiya National Park, etc. 

When you hire the guide in contact with tour operators, the main thing they consider is your safety during the journey. After this, they provide you the information about the places with the historical facts. During the city tour, they alert you about the timing and guiding you safely. And provides detailed information about the places. You can also get the guide at the entrance of heritage sites. But it’s better to hire a guide for a full day from the tour operator if you need it. 

In the context of the trekking, the guide will book the lodges for fooding and accommodation. They also manage lunch en route to the destinations. And provide detailed information like time duration, elevation, weather, details of mountains, etc. If you need any helper to carry your backpacks, then the trekking guide also manages the porter for the trekking with the extra allowances for them. The trekking guide is available mainly in Kathmandu who will guide for the whole of Nepal. You can also get a guide from Pokhara who is experienced in the Annapurna Region and Lukla who are experienced in the Everest Region, etc. When you hire a guide from the tour operator, they help you to escort from your arrival at the airport till your departure time from Nepal.

Where to travel to Nepal?

It depends upon you about the purpose of traveling in Nepal. If you are not thinking about what to do, where to go, then you are free to do anything your heart desires. Normally, people travel with purpose. Just think about what you want to see. Mainly you travel to a new destination with the factor Wanderlust and Sun-lust.
