DAY 01: ARRIVAL AND PICK UP FROM AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL

Meat our professional driver who will assist you with the luggage from the Kilimanjaro airport to the Hotel where you will get hot water, dinner and overnight waiting for the next day (day trip to Arusha National park)

DAY 02: ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK DAY TRIP

The most accessible national park in Tanzania, Arusha National Park is just a short (1 hour) drive from Arusha properties.

While the park is not home to any big cats or larger mammals, it is an ideal place to spot buffalo, zebras, warthogs, and a variety of primates. Arusha National Park is the best place in Tanzania to spot black and white colobus monkeys.

With fewer dangerous animals to worry about, Arusha National Park is the ideal place to take a walking safari. With a picnic lunch prepared by Afric Photography, this is the perfect way to start a longer safari adventure.

DAY 03: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Tarangire National park has a unique and diverse landscape, it is located 120 km (2.5 hours drive estimate). Tarangire is a favorite park to visit during the dry season because has a permanent water source hence most wildlife migrate here. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah, and the seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. The Tarangire National Park is considered as one of the best places to view elephants up close, not only because there are thousands of animals but also because they are not disturbed by the presence of vehicles. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions, Leopards, etc. Birds are plenty, Secretary bird is most noticeable

DAY 04: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast proceeds to the Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake. After day game drives, wildlife viewing tours, and sightseeing, return to the lodge.

DAY 05: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, take the lunch boxes and drive to the Serengeti Plains for a full day Game drive. Picnic lunch in the park, proceed with the Game drive till evening whereby you will drive back to the LODGE/Camp.

Dinner and overnight at the Serena Serengeti Lodge or And beyond. 

DAY 06: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, proceed with game drives in Serengeti National Park across Kopjes and endless plains. Spot most wildlife animals in Serengeti with help of a professional drive guide. Track wildebeest migration to see wildlife interaction such as lions, leopards hunting prey. You will have your picnic lunch near the water source to observe more wildlife drinking water. Later in the evening, drive back to Lodge or luxury tented camp for leisure,

DAY 07: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK-NGORONGORO CRATER

Ngorongoro to Serengeti distance is 220 km approx. (travel time is 3 to 3.5 hours)

Morning Game drives into the Serengeti plains, then back to the campsite for lunch. After lunch drive to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai George (option). Have dinner and overnight at the LODGE on the rim of the Crater.

-Ngorongoro Conservation area has many attractions, the major attraction is the Ngorongoro crater –Ngorongoro Conservation area altitude is from 1500 to 3600m, hence when traveling consider warm clothes. Ngorongoro crater is a volcanic crater, the largest unexploded and unbroken caldera in the world. Has about 20kms across, 600 meters deep, and 300 sq km in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. The elevation of the crater floor is 1,800 meters,

DAY 08: CRATER TOUR- NGORONGORO

Ngorongoro to Arusha distance is 180 km (travel time is average 2.5 to 3 hours)

After an early breakfast, you will take your lunch boxes and descend at about 2,000ft into the Crater floor for the Crater Tour, picnic lunch in the park. Proceed with the Game drive till evening whereby you will, drive you back to Arusha.

DAY 09: COFFEE TOUR / KAHAWA TOUR

The Kahawa coffee plantation is located in the village of Nkoaranga, about 25 kilometers from Arusha. Here, you’ll have the chance to tour a working coffee plantation, roast and grind your beans, and enjoy a hot cup of the freshest coffee you’ll ever have.

Couple this with a hot local lunch and your bag of Tanzanian coffee beans to bring home and you’ve got the recipe for a delicious cultural experience.

DAY 10: CULTURE TOUR / Arusha City Walking Tour

CENTRAL MARKET IN ARUSHA

The chaotic Central Market in Swahili (Soko Kuu: ‘Big Market’) in the heart of the city is worth an hour or two of strolling time. While you might see a few other travelers, the market survives more off the local trade and is all the more interesting because of it. 

BOMA MUSEUM

The Boma natural history museum is a compound that showcases the natural history, wildlife, culture, and artifacts of the Arusha region – Tanzania. It is housed inside what was an old German military outpost and has three separate buildings that are open to the public (the rest being offices), an outdoor mini botanical garden, and an outdoor art and crafts gallery.

One of the three buildings is for wildlife, the other for the history of the region’s events, and the third for archaeological history. The museum is part of the national museums of Tanzania, which also includes the Dar es Salaam museum, Sukuma Museum, Mwalimu Nyerere museum, and the Makumbusho village museum.

DAY 11: MAJI MOTO DAY TRIP

Maji moto means ‘hot water’ in Swahili, but you’ll find the crystal clear waters of this natural hot spring to be quite pleasant.

A bumpy two-hour drive from Arusha to Maji Moto is a popular swimming spot with locals and tourists alike. Shaded by the towering trees that surround the oasis, Maji Moto is a perfect place to take a dip, layout in the sun, and enjoy a local lunch purchased from the vendors on-site.

DAY 12: MARANGU VILLAGE TOUR

Located in the Kilimanjaro foothills, the sleepy village of Marangu offers a fascinating window into modern Tanzanian life.

A day tour to Marangu includes visits to a local coffee plantation, a chance to sample locally brewed banana beer, a tour of the Chaga tunnels, and a walk to a gorgeous local waterfall.

If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can speak to your driver about stopping off at a local restaurant to try some ugali, chips mayai, or fried chicken.

DAY 13: MERU WATERFALL

This is a beautiful little waterfall, with its principal advantage being its proximity to Arusha. The journey from Arusha is just 7km and takes only 15 minutes. Having parked, there is a short walk that involves some steep ground and some clambering, but is quite manageable, even for young children. DAY 14: DEPARTURE AND DROP OFF 

The driver will be at the hotel 4 hours before the international flight time the driver will assist you with luggage to the car and drop you at the airport.
